Thoughts

from my mind to yours

Don’t let the energy of your attention flow towards the infinity of urgency.

When life doesn’t go as planned, stop sticking with the plan!

A society that gains the freedom of self-governance and freedom of speech also gains the responsibility to speak up and take action when it recognizes injustice, corruption, cruelty, prejudice, deception, or discrimination taking place within its community.

Honor those you quote by practicing their wisdom and then quoting yourself; be not a mirror but a sprouting seed.

All our clocks are counting down.

The greatest gift we can give the world is to embrace who we are, thoroughly and without reservation. Until we do that, our selflessness will be a cheap excuse for mediocrity. Be real and real will be gifted.

The proliferation of robots in our society won’t take our humanity away, it’ll give it back. Mindless tasks, like driving, will decrease.

The past and the future are but echos of the present.

Responsibility is the cost of freedom.

It’s far better to make mistakes and ask for forgiveness than to play it safe and remain quietly invisible to the world.

Knowing when to say no and then having the confidence to say it is evidence that you know what’s important to you.

Some live alone inside; others live with their best friend.

The right thing to do is always that which feels undeniably true to you.

There are two ways to change the world: selfishly and selflessly.

We need to let go of what’s next and embrace what’s now.

Those who really want to understand learn to teach.

You’re not living in front of your television; you’re dying.

Thought precedes action and you are what you do, therefore the dreams you believe in become you.

I save 312 paper cups each year by ordering my cafe drinks in a reusable mug.

There is more wisdom inside you than in all the books ever written. Where are you looking for inspiration?

If my lifestyle choices cannot be sustainably replicated across all humans on planet Earth, I’m setting a bad example.

Mindfulness in the age of bits and infinite information requires letting go and releasing our attachment to the need to know.

To lead others you must first learn to lead yourself. Where have you led yourself lately?

How much time do you spend reading what others are spending time doing? Does the activity add regular value to your life or is it a grab bag of occasional usefulness? Unless we learn to self-moderate, we will risk self-sabotage.

Without practice we maintain a plateau where progress stalls. To obliterate plateaus, create habits of regular practice.

Do not let it wander and squander aimlessly; bring your mind home.

Who are we if not for our creations?

Wherever you are, be there. Be present. It’s the best gift you can give.

What do I know? I know so little. I don’t even know how to breathe. I simply think “breathe” and my body choreographs a beautifully synchronized series of events that results in my chest expanding and air being sucked in to fill the vacuum. What do I know? I know so little. I don’t even know how to breathe.

Life isn’t about picking a destination and then spending the rest of your life getting there, but rather choosing a direction and then making the most of that journey.
