I received a call today while at work. I usually don't answer my phone, so I let the caller leave a message. When I checked my voicemail, it was the Lowell Police department. They asked me to return their call, and gave me the number to call. I hate when they leave a message without telling me what's going on. I was worried it was something catastrophic. When I called back, they asked me for the number that originally called me. Uh? I couldn't check my caller ID list while I was on a call, so I hung up and called back. I gave them the number and they transferred me to the person who originally called. She told me there were three police officers outside my property and they needed the key to get into the first floor unit. I told them I was in Boston at work. The woman said to hold on. I could hear while she was listening to what was going on over the radio. She said they managed to get in through the back door, and told me they were all set.
Starting tomorrow, I'm going to shift my schedule a bit. Usually I go into Boston in the morning, work all day, and come back in the evening to workout or go for a bike ride if there's any sun left. But by the time I get home from work, I feel exhausted. My workouts are rarely energized the way I'd like them to be. So tomorrow morning, I'm going to do some yoga, workout, and maybe go for a bike ride before I head to work. That way I can work from 12pm - 8 or 9pm and not have to worry about not having enough energy at the end of the day.
I’m confused… why were there police at your property?
Because they were trying to arrest Lisa, Georges wife/gf. They been around here before to arrest her, so I wasn’t surprised. I’m not even sure what they are arresting her for.
She’s still here though, because I heard her upstairs. I guess she just hid out inside until the police went away (as she did last time). She’s going to be out of here by the end of this week anyway. She’s moving to her mom’s house. I don’t care what happens, as long as shes gone, so I can rent the apartment.
Maybe we’ll rent it…. I HATE trying to buy a house. Ppl still haven’t found a place, tho they accepted our offer. Rates are going up and we really really want a HOUSE (that one preferably)! So here we are trying to figure out if we extend them trying to find a place, or say no we are sticking with the original contract and if they say NO, we get back our earnest monies. Basically – I have NO clue to what to do. “Sucks to be me” use to be my old old motto, now it returns.
I should blog this on my site not yours… 😕
If they seem genuine about trying to find you a house, then I’d give them another chance. But if they seem like they’re beating around the bush, then screw them and get your money back.
Funny; you’re trying desperately to buy a house and I’m trying to get rid of mine. I saw a new house that went on the market this morning, 3 family looking very nice inside, for $264k. Mine is a 4 family and looks like crap inside for $289k. Which would you pick?
I’m still trying to figure out what to do. Now that I have three units vacant, that house is going to cost me $2000 each month it isn’t rented. I need to hire someone to go in there and renovate all three units for $5000 – $6000. I don’t know if thats even possible though. It might cost that much just for one or two units, what to talk of all three. That is unless I do all the work myself…. which I could do, but it would just take up so much of my time; time that I do not have; unless I just don’t sleep for a few weeks…
I’ll sleep for ya. You just give me a place to sleep.
I say give them an extention, but everyone else (family) says no. Someone had this idea…. give them an extention, but keep the closing on 7/28, if it takes longer for them to find a place, they pay rent till they do (but no longer than 3 months). sounds reasonable.
Yea, that sounds reasonable… the renting that is, not the sleeping for me. 🙂 Thanks for offering though. I’m usually the one that says “If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.”
If I do spend the next couple of weeks working on those units, I don’t want to sell the house for what it’s listed for. I’m going to talk to my real estate agent and see if he thinks it would make sense to increase the price by $10,000 after I renovate the three units. I don’t want to do all that work and still be losing money when I sell it. =
How’s that schedual shift working for you? able to keep to it?
It’s tough, but I keep telling myself it’s just going to take a little time to adjust. It’s important to get the meals timed correctly so you have energy for a morning workout, but otherwise I’d say I definitely feel much better overall. It also helps me work during the day, knowing that I’ve already completed my entire workout for today.
