Year in Review – 2007

The year 2007 was a very big year of adjustment for me. It was the first time I had lived so far from my home town. Working full-time at Aerva while still owning the three properties in Lowell really pulled me back and forth quite a bit and the stress of dealing with broken water pipes and deadlines at work really tested my ability to handle stress.

Here are the results of my 2007 New Years Resolutions:

  1. Fix my financial position (get my rental properties streamlined with my brother as the property manager and reduce or eliminate unnecessary bills)
  2. I realized that I could not own three properties in Lowell and work a full-time job in Cambridge. My brother has been a huge help in the last quarter of the year, however the declining real estate market has made me realize that getting rid of the properties is the best financial move I can make at this point. So, I've listed all of my properties for sale and one way or another, I will get rid of them.

This doesn't quite mean that I've fixed my financial position, but I've certainly taken the necessary steps.

  3. Develop and maintain a regular healthy diet and exercise program (which includes drinking more tea and less coffee!)
  4. Amazingly, this both failed and succeeded. Due to the huge time constrains and stress, I was unable to get myself into a regular workout program. However, I have done very well with eating healthy foods and even though I haven't worked out very much, I've only gained about 8 - 10 lbs. Starting this new year, however, I will be going full-steam ahead and surpassing the fittest I have ever been.

  5. Finish myfmo.com (personal project)
  6. This did not get done. Since myfmo.com will be used to track my workout programs, not having a workout program this year has really put it's development off. That will change this year.

  7. Finish savenotes.com (personal project)
  8. Again, so many other things to work on. But I've decided that getting even the basic functionality done and made public is better than nothing. I will finish this within the first quarter of 2008.

Not the results I was hoping for, but 2008 will be a much more productive year! 🙂
