$250 an Hour!?

Theres nothin' quite like waking up to a chilly morning and being unable to take a hot shower because the sunburn all over your stomach burns when even warm water touches it.

I received a call from CBIZ yesterday, a company that hired me through OnForce to install a Cisco router in a local Applebee's restaraunt when it opened up. They told me a thunderstorm ruined the router and that it needed to be replaced. They told me it was a $100 work order and that the router was pre-configured; I just needed to hook it up. So I accepted.

This morning I receive the work order: $75, and router is not configured. So I rejected it. Then while I was working out, around 10:30am, the guy from CBIZ called me. I told him the work order was for the wrong amount and the job description didn't match what he told me. He offered to change the work order to $125 and explained that he will email me all the configuration instructions. So I accepted. Rushed home to change, arrived at Applebee's around 11:30am and was done by 12:00 and on my way to Aerva. I wish I had more simple work orders like that one. 🙂

  1. Cool! The largest I ever made an hour was $75. A local bank needed to know how to change some stuff on their website in Frontpage… I have no idea how to use frontpage when I got there, but I looked like an expert to them. LOL

By Saturday the 15th – my website will be different. Putting up new pictures. I’m starting to get homesick for Vietnam and it’s not even my home….

  2. Cool, maybe I should try out CBiZ, but how did you end up with 250$? it seemed as though you only got 125 or 200 at the most.

  3. I received $125 and it took me 30 minutes.

    30 minutes x 2 = 1 hour

    $125 x 2 = $250

    $250 per hour.

Oh, and CBIZ isn’t a place you can try out. They use OnForce to hire local contractors to do jobs for them. Since I did a job for them in the past, they called me directly to see if I was available before putting a work order out for anyone to accept. You can create a free account with OnForce and start receiving work order notifications. You’re not obligated to accept the work orders.
