Yesterday I only had 4 hours of sleep because I was up until 4:30am working on a programming project for Aerva. Amazingly enough, yesterday was probably my most productive day of the week. I felt more awake and energized than any other day! All on 4 hours of sleep! I managed to workout AND go for a bike ride (which by the way didn't last very long because the horse flies were swarming around me like I've never seen). I did manage to take some nice photos while I was biking though. Click the frog below to visit the gallery.
Near the end of the day however, I started to feel the effects of only getting 4 hours of sleep. I decided to lay down and take a nap, which ended up lasting 2 1/2 hours. When I woke up, I felt like crap, as if I hadn't slept in days. I believe my mistake was sleeping too long. I should have set my alarm to wake me up in 30 minutes. Last night however, I had a full night's rest.
The traffic was insane today. I couldn't figure out why until I heard the radio mention it was 4th of July weekend! Duh!
I signed up for a Fotki account, just to try out the features and compare them to the open-source photo gallery I'm using. If you view my Fotki albums you'll notice I only have one album uploaded. I'm still trying to decide whether I want to give in and use Fotki for all my albums, or if I want to continue to manage the albums myself using custom PHP programming. I might add a feature to picKLE (the photo gallery I'm using) that uses a random thumbnail for each of the galleries (which is what Fotki does) instead of just the album name. The only other feature I might want to add is a comments feature, so visitors can leave comments for certain pictures or galleries. The other reason I might want to host my albums on Fotki though, is bandwidth. If I have enough visitors browsing my gallery, my bandwidth limitations will really slow everyone down.
I'm considering changing my workout routine starting Monday. I've been on my current routine for 4 weeks and I've made some nice gains, however it's starting to feel a bit monotonous.
And last but not least, thanks to you my readers, last month saw the largest number of hits to this site; over 1000 unique hits last month alone. I appreciate the support and look forward to your comments!
You’re welcome. =P
I was up till 3 playing wolf last night 🙂 but woke up at 9am and got out of bed around 20 minutes later. Lazy day.
I found this online gallery thru the acdclub website.

But just using NetObjects to create a photogallery isn’t that bad, like on my website – http://www.vnphotogallery.com – don’t have to resize photos, like some online galleries or upload 1 photo at a time.
Yea, I really like how I can just upload the folder of images to my web server, and the picKLE PHP script does the rest automatically. I don’t have to resize any pictures, create albums, etc. It uses the name of the folder for the album name, and when a visitor chooses to view a different size (using the drop down list above the image) the script automatically resizes the image on the fly and stores the resized picture in a cache so the next time someone else views that same size, it just loads the cached image instead of resizing it again.
It’s very limited though. I have no easy way of including the gallery on my other pages, so it still looks like a different site when you view the gallery. There’s no way for visitors to leave comments and no easy way for me to write descriptions for the albums or add notes to the pictures.
