After four days of being down, my DSL is working again. Verizon was supposed to come yesterday but they never showed. I'm at Panera Bread right now, using their free wireless network (the largest in the country), and I decided to try pinging my home server to see if the they had fixed the phone line. Much to my surprise, the ping replied back!
One of the big reasons I need my home server running is because I use it as a web proxy to secure all my wireless web browsing using Squid and SSH. I also forward my IMAP and SMTP ports so I can have secure access to my email. I recently setup a Linux server at WFCorp, so luckily I was able to use that as a secure proxy.
As I was writing this, the connection to my home server died. Now I'm unable to ping my home server, so I assume they are still working on the line. I just hope they didn't fix it and then break something before they left.
Lucky You, I Lost My Internet Connection And All I Can Do Is Whatewer This Buy One Get One Free Phone Allows Of To Do. Its A Good Deal By The Way. But, I Cant Keep My Clog Alive This Way. Yup, its back up. For some weird reason it died until about 2 or 3 in the morning. By the time I woke up, it was working again. I noticed I spent more time outside since I had no Internet inside. lol, but I use the Internet for work, not play, so it’s not as though I’m wasting time or anything. :p
Oh, incase you have any customers interested, I’m renting a second hosting server. Its a Windows server, so I can host ASP/ASP.net and MSSQL stuff. Same packages as I have now on akmai.net.
ITS A GOOD THING I DIDN’T DECIDE TO CAPITALIZE EVERY SINGLE LETTER. =P
