The never ending rain – State of Emergency declared

Watching the local news on TV this morning, I learn that the governor of Massachusetts has declared a state of emergency due to the seemingly endless amounts of rain we've been receiving. The places most at risk of flooding? Northern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. Where do I live? On the border of New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Then I hear them listing the places that have already started flooding: rivers, streets, and basements... wait, I'm living in a basement! Haha (not really), let's hope my foundation holds and no water leaks through!

Every time I hear the sound of dripping water, I look around to see if it's water dripping inside, or if its just the sound of the rain outside. I guess it does help that I am on a very slight hill, and most of the water from the streets flows down towards the Merrimack river. However, in the past I've had a few mystery problems with water leaking through my basement in times of heavy rain. Nothing yet though, and it's been raining heavy for days.

  1. Basement pool party at Raam’s!!!!!

wondering how my ex-basement is holding up…. it’s been raining in NE Indiana now for 3 – 4 days straight.

  2. We got over 10″ of rain here so far. It’s been raining for over two weeks and its supposed to rain for another week. My parent’s house is about 10 feet from a lake, and their basement is already flooding. The stream that goes through their yard, and under their driveway, looks more like a gushing river. It’s almost washing out their driveway. Their dock is already under water.
