Hey! I haven’t talked to you for so long… so I guess I have lots to say.
Umm… so lets start.. uhh..
I went to Supply School and Camp Johnson, NC at the beginning of the year. I just graduated today top in class and honors. My Commanding Officer gave me Flags of Our Fathers, which was also signed and messaged by him, Lt. Col. Gabri.
Uhh.. I also had a board(screening like The Apprentice show) for meritorious Lance Corporal and won by 1 question.. which is kinda funny because I got 3 of 14 questions right.. that was pretty nerve-racking.. but it just made me 9 months ahead of most of my peers.
So now, I’m waiting to go home for 10 days before I fly to my permanent duty station in Camp Pendleton, CA. I’m attached to 1st Division, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, which is an infantry unit. The MCC Code is V15, which means I’ll be travelling alot and won’t be home much. 5th Marines “Fighting Fifth” is also the most prestigious regiment and it’s really cool. I get to wear the French Fourragere on my uniform, which is reserved only for 5th and 6th Marine Regiments. I look forward to that. =)
Anyways, I’m trying to relax, but as you can see, SOO much has happned in the past two months and more is definitely about to come. I’m deploying to Iraq very soon in a few months, so I’ll talk to you before I go, I guess.
Anyways, take care and I’ll keep you updated. Peace and Semper Fi Raam!
Only knowing you from the few posts here and been to your blog a few times. Congrats on all of the above. And keep us posted on your deployement to Iraq. My 2nd cuz was over there when we stormed baghdad. Thank you for your service. -djt
Wow congrats on all your accomplishments! It sounds like you’re enjoying all the changes happening in your life; I’m sure you must be learning a lot — about yourself and otherwise.
It’s good to hear from you! Stay safe and I look forward to reading more of your stories on your Xanga blog!
