Plateaus

Plateaus are signals that the step we're on has fulfilled its purpose and that it's time to climb higher.

  1. I think the plateaus are the time of gestation for the next move. A time sometimes of ‘doing nothing’ as the process is in the sub-conscious. We can get stuck there if we stop paying attention by getting distracted by the outside world. When we are in tune, the plateau gestation will begin the birth pangs to take us to a new level. I try to remember to respect the plateau and let it do what it needs to do.

    • Great points, Donna! I find that I am most likely to get stuck on the plateau when I get comfortable. That’s why I feel it’s so important to recognize and respect plateaus for what they are, as you said a ‘gestation’ period. A period of time designed to give ourselves a ‘breather’ and prepare us for the next leg of ascent. 🙂

  2. Hey Raam, it’s been a while since the last comment I left on your site. This thought got me clicking on the “share your thoughts” link on your “Ten Thoughts to Contemplate” mail.

I’m liking your new approach to blogging a lot, and these thoughts are a great way to make the rest of us think! Thanks for that!

    • Thanks, Jarkko! As all of life, it’s a work in progress.

It took me about 90 hours to get the new design/style/process setup and about half of that was spent trying to throw out the status quo (the way we’ve all been taught to think about how our ideas/voice/opinions/thoughts should be organized online kept creeping back in!).

I’m happy you enjoy the new style! 🙂
