“Spend less money than you make”. To put it another way, don’t take a loan or use a credit card unless there is an extremely good reason to do so. I have seen people rationalize this in a million ways. Bottom line, that is spending money you don’t have—no matter how you cut it.

Great advice on not using money you don’t have, Jason. Modern society makes it so easy to give into the temptation of spending what you don’t have (and then society justifies it by telling you that you’re “contributing to society”).
