I canceled my Send2Fax account after a visitor to this blog recommended I take a look at FaxPipe and I realized I could be saving some money. When I started using Send2Fax back in 2006 I believe I was paying around $3 a month. Since I signed up, they have increased the price to $12 a month.
I don't send or receive faxes very often (maybe once or twice a month) but it's nice to have such a service. At the same time, it's not something I depend on so if I can save money by switching then I should.
After signing up for FaxPipe I sent in a request to cancel my Send2Fax account. Within 48 hours, I got a response that included this:

This pissed me off because it seemed like they intentionally increased the price over time hoping I wouldn't notice and then offered to lower price again when I was ready to cancel. I sent them a reply saying I still want to cancel and then along with the confirmation I received this:

I looked into this "free" service and not only is it meant to be used as a trial, but the fax number they give you will be outside your local calling area.
If Send2Fax had left the monthly price low in the first place, I would have stayed with them.
With these fax services, can you fax internationally? Not like I need to send a fax to Viet Nam, but if I had to every now and then, it would beat sending it at Post-Net.
Send2Fax has international faxing to Vietnam for $0.29 a minute.
I have used the free trial offers of many of internet fax companies, and subscribed to both efax and myfax, and there is a world of difference with myfax … DJT: I fax internationally to the uk all the time ..
Thanks Che, but I was really looking for something under $5 a month, since I barely use the service. But 300 pages a month for $10 at MyFax isn’t a bad deal at all!
I have been using a site called pay per fax, http://www.payperfax.com. Its great because like you Che I barely fax so its a savings to pay as I need to.
Well, I liked the service but I cancelled due to my business going under in this economy back on Jan 30 – and I am still waiting (3/31) for them to credit the balance of my now-cancelled-for-two-months account to my charge card.
They were pretty quick to collect their money every month when it was due but they seem to have some pretty sticky fingers when it comes to refunds.
It is not a large amount but it is irksome to have to deal with slackers.
Yeah, slow refunds can be really frustrating, and they definitely give the offending business a bad reputation. About 6 months ago I shipped a modem back to Verizon when I canceled my FiOS service. They charged me $140 anyway so I called to complain. I gave them the tracking number to prove they received the modem. Six months later the refund randomly appears in my bank account!
