Do what you love and do it often.
Living in pursuit of what feels real will always lead to surprises, but no surprise is without its purpose. Every fork leads somewhere. It's not your choice that is recorded by the universe but what you do with that choice once you've made it.
Take the fork and all will make sense. Trust that life knows best. Have faith that you will be ready. Do what you love, live what you love, and each event in your life will join to form an infinite stream of serendipity.
In the end, when your entire life flows into a single moment of time, it won't be your possessions, your worries, or your missed opportunities that cumulate into that single moment, but rather how you truly you lived, how deeply you loved, and how completely you followed your heart.
Thank you Raam. I REALLY needed to hear that today. thank you so much 🙂
I’m so happy to hear that, Priya! 🙂
Just as I was battling a tough choice, one that involved bowing to severe external pressure or following my heart, I stumbled upon this.
You have written something so beautiful and so powerful in its simplicity, it makes it clear that the choice is not really tough (you know what you must choose for the sake of your sanity). But following through on that choice and standing by it come what may—that is the real test. It is now crystal clear that there is only one thing I can and I must do.
As Steve Jobs once said, you’ve to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.
Thank you so much for sharing this 🙂
Akshata, I’m so happy this found you when you needed it. 🙂
I’m good at finding patterns and I’ve been reminded repeatedly over the course my life that things always seem to make sense in retrospect, when we have enough distance in time from the event. It’s like looking at the Earth from the ground… it’s hard to see that it’s actually a sphere, floating in space, going around a sun, which is inside a galaxy, which itself is inside a cluster of galaxies… from the vantage point of an ant, it’s hard to see the bigger picture. In the same way, every event in our life, every choice, means something, connects somehow, to a greater structure that will eventually comprise our life. We need only trust in following what feels true and right — following our heart and our instinct — to lead ourselves down the optimal path.
Now that’s a lot of wisdom in 3 paragraphs! Thank you Raam.
My pleasure, Chris. 🙂
Very beautifully written. Just Excellent. You’re an inspiration to me and in my own pursuit of what I want to get out of life!
Thank you, Michael! 🙂 I’m happy that you enjoyed this.
