My Blog is not the Amazon.com Returns Department!

Last year I wrote a post about the Amazon.com website being down. In the post I wrote "http://www.amazon.com returns Http/1.1 Service Unavailable". Now thanks to Google my page was indexed and I'm getting random people thinking my site is the Amazon.com returns department. I mean really, does my site look anything like Amazon? Check the post and you'll see half-a-dozen such people posting comments.

  1. This might just be me (due to browsing history) but you now come up *3rd* for Amazon Returns Department for this post.

Of course, I also voted it up in Google =P

Might be time for a phishing scam! j/k

    • Ok, it’s *not* just me. I tried searching on a logged out web browser and you still come up third.

Had my friend log in with their GMail account, voted it up in Google again =P

      • Awesome! Thanks! At least now if people start posting comments on this post looking for the Amazon returns department, I’ll know they’re absolutely crazy and won’t even bother with trying to point them in the right direction. 🙂

    • Yeah, I wouldn’t have thought much of it if only one or two people thought I was the Amazon returns department, but thanks to Google, there is a relatively consistent stream of such people finding my blog (about one every two months on average so far).

  2. Purely in the interest of science, I’m pretty sure that somebody at least has to try this …

    • LOL, that’s awesome. 😀

(BTW, your post is the first in a long time that I’ve had to manually approve. WordPress screamed when it saw all those links. 😛 )

  3. I purchased a Shamwow! about 2 weeks ago, and I just used it. It didn’t do anything that it said it would. It just pushed the spilled liquid off the table and on to the floor. I’d like to get a refund. What steps are needed to get started?
    Thank you for your time,

  4. hmm………………

BTW – I just purchased an ARCOR race car on Ebay. Can I get a refund? 😉

Have you any idea of the torment I’ve undergone to stop myself putting a spoof returns request here? I went through all manner of items in my head…oh the shame, the shame. 😉

I’ve had a similar thing happen to me from the google indexing. Just show ‘scam’ or ‘spam’ somewhere and before long you get spammers and scammers. Ha Ha.
