I think the simple act of publishing content online is promotion in and of itself. If we publish our work online and share it occasionally (through social media, email lists, etc., not pushing it all the time, but simply announcing that new work is available), that should be promotion enough. If it’s not promotion enough, I’d say we need to focus more attention on the quality, utility, and originality of our work, not on more promotion.
That’s quite a bold statement, Raam. It’s really got me thinking. Is there no need for promotion at all?
